Silent Films Part I.

  There is just something about silent movies that intrigues me. Whenever I come across them on Turner Classic Movies I just can’t stop watching them. The first one I ever saw was three years ago on Christmas Eve. It was called “Earth.” It is an old Russian propaganda silent film…I think? Anyway, the visuals are pretty amazing and terrifying at the same time. It was kind of like watching a horror movie in a way, just because there is such eeriness to the footage. I’ve seen a few since then, I try to remember the names of them so I can find them on YouTube or DVD if I want them. The most recent one that I’ve seen is called “Metropolis.” It’s an old German film that was actually lost during WWII and found years later. It’s about a futuristic city where the working class lives in an underground city and the rich and power full live in the upper city. I actually got this on BLU-RAY for Christmas. It’s really good. Surprisingly enough both “Earth” and “Metropolis” are available on Netflix. That’s it for now!

I decided to name this part one because I want to talk about silent films more but didn’t want to make this too long. So I will at some point make the second part to this and go more into why I like silent films so much! HA!

Everything in between…

So far I have recorded my opening track “Youre the Point” and I’m wrapping up the closing song “Evergreen.” There are gong to be 8 songs between the two. While I sit here and watch my wife play tetris I realize that getting my CD done by April is going to be challenging but I am confident that I will have it done, Failure is not an option!!!!! I am going to record “Nuisance” next week. Than after that who knows. I cannot wait to have it done and have everyone hear the newly recorded songs. I am getting pretty excited. Goodnight, I must go play tetris.

Weather

It amazes me that 30 something degree weather feels like spring to me. I guess that’s how cold it has gotten around here the last few weeks. I am very ready for spring and warm weather. But I guess the cold is good for staying inside and getting some recording done. It feels like I will never be done recording, but I know that’s not the case. It is just a slow process. Thats is all….Good night.

Music Video

So I have been trying to come up with ideas for a cool music video. I want to come up with something cool and interesting but also something that I can do myself so it would have to be relatively simple. I never liked music videos with random scenes of the artist playing they’re instrument, I always wanted to make music videos that held some meaning and depth. If anyone has any ideas shoot them my way. I guess having a song picked out would help too, I’ll try to do that  soon. Bye!

Eye Rest

So I am simply trying to set up my wordpress right now, so I’m afraid I dont’ have anything very interesting to blog about right now, but I would like to point out one thing. The picture for my page header. Look at it. Is it just me, or does it look like I’m resting my eye on my microphone? I assure you I was not, but I found it entertaining to think about. I will add a new header picture soon, but until than, enjoy what looks like a picture of me resting my eye ball on my microphone. Thank you.
